Cockroach Janta Party has reaffirmed its manifesto demand for 50% reservation for women in Parliament and Cabinet, calling political representation a central test of democracy. The party said women's participation must be treated as a matter of power-sharing, not symbolic inclusion. In a statement, CJP said that satire allows the movement to reach wider audiences, but its demand on women's representation is serious and non-negotiable in spirit. The party argued that political decision-making cannot be complete when women remain underrepresented in key institutions. Founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke has positioned CJP as a platform for citizens who feel overlooked by traditional politics. The party said that any movement speaking for ignored voices must also speak clearly about gender representation. CJP added that its online community will continue to highlight the issue through posts, videos, explainers and interviews. The party believes that democratic reform conversations should be made simple enough for young and first-time political audiences to engage with. The statement is part of CJP's larger effort to explain its manifesto beyond viral jokes and slogans. According to the party, humour may open the door, but public issues must remain at the centre.
