CJP Announces Dedicated Focus on Independent Media and Public Interest Journalism
Cockroach Janta Party has announced that independent media will remain a key theme in its public communication. The party said citizens need journalism that asks difficult questions, represents public concerns and resists pressure from political or corporate interests.
In its manifesto, CJP has criticised the concentration of media influence and partisan coverage. The party said that a healthy democracy requires space for independent reporting, uncomfortable questions and public-interest debate.
According to CJP, young digital audiences are increasingly skeptical of scripted political coverage. The party believes satire can help reopen conversations around media trust in a way that feels accessible and direct.
Founder and convenor Abhijeet Dipke has shaped CJP as an internet-native movement, and the media theme fits that identity. Many CJP followers consume political information through social media, independent creators and online discussions rather than only traditional outlets.
The party said it will continue to publish statements, articles and videos on media independence as part of its broader accountability agenda.
